Our Mission

Our Story

After years of business owners asking Brittany Culver questions about the success of her team at Financial Strategies Group (FSG), and how FSG was able to grow its team and business in quality and quantity year after year, even in turbulent times, she started to pay attention. It seemed that what is second nature to FSG in terms of culture wasn’t something that was second nature to all. Throughout her 14 years of building the FSG culture to what it is today she recognized that she has a passion for culture and through the encouragement of others she began to believe it might even be a secret talent.

In 2023 when Doug Thalhammer joined FSG, the two quickly clicked. Doug is an experienced leader with a strong background in logistics, service, and distribution. Known for driving results, he excels at empowering teams to reach their full potential. Doug specializes in training leaders to create engaged, high-performing work environments where employees thrive. Over the course of the next two years, it became clear that a passion for culture was shared among the two.

With that, 3 Mountains was born! While continuing to pour into the thriving environment at FSG, Doug and Brittany are now poised to pour into other businesses who are ready to make the climb and discover the power of intentional and consistent culture.

True to our name, engagements consist of three distinct phases. Together, we will conquer one mountain at a time with a rest at the summit. This allows cultural changes to settle into your environment to ensure lasting change. Each phase is active for three months, with support to see the changes through the following nine months. You can choose to take the reigns after your first engagement, or we can journey together through all three; the power is yours.

Our Process

  • Assess current culture

  • Agree on vision for future culture

  • Establish implementor and culture budget

  • Create profiles for current team members

  • Design profiles for future hires

  • Agree upon three action items to bring
    culture forward

Identify

The Identify stage has set a great foundation, but the Progress stage is where things become more unique to you and your brand. Together, we will be taking the principles from the Identify mountain, discover what is working and what isn’t, and begin to customize your culture plan. The Progress mountain should leave you with a culture that is true to your company, a culture that is uniquely you.

Advance

Through Identify, we have laid a foundation; through Progress, we have given that foundation your own unique style; as we approach the Realize mountain, we will look at how you can leverage your culture to grow your company. This moutain will be all about running a campaign with your team to bring them to the next level, whether that be in education, client service, or a lagging core value. This will serve as a model for you to grow your team year after year.

What People Are Saying

“I have had the pleasure of working with Doug for over a decade and have consistently witnessed his ability to foster high-performing teams that prioritize quality and efficiency. The teams he builds are not only productive but also a pleasure to collaborate with. Doug creates an environment that drives engagement, enhances performance, and strengthens teamwork. Beyond that, he has a remarkable talent for identifying and developing future leaders, empowering others to grow and succeed. His keen ability to recognize and maximize the strengths of those around him has had a lasting impact on our organization.”

-Will Polleys; Director of Sales at Stryker Orthopaedics

“As a longtime client of FSG, I have spoken with many different employees who were handling various tasks. It is notable how they all treat me like they have known me for years, like I am their only client, and all seem to be completely up to speed with the task at hand.  If I take a little extra time to respond with documentation needed from me there is a timely gentle reminder to make sure I don’t drop the ball.  As a business owner, I am confident that the care I receive, and the reason that I am a raving fan of FSG, is a direct result of their deeply rooted culture.”

-Jim Teuber, FSG Client and Business Owner

“After working with hundreds of businesses over the past 20 years—and now as a business broker—one thing consistently stands out as the key to making a business more enjoyable, scalable, and most importantly, more sellable: culture. It's such a misunderstood term but I can say with certainty nobody has done as great a job as Brittany and her team. I've bragged about it to all my clients and will continue. If you lack continuity and direction, this is where you start!"

-Gary Morris; The Vantage Brokers

"Coming from what many would term a 'toxic-work environment', FSG advertised itself as a new beginning and since the first day of onboarding, it never failed to deliver on that promise.  The culture, the work/life balance, and the understanding of what role you were to play in the organization were paramount to making me feel like a member of a greater community, rather than a collection of colleagues trying to keep the doors open for our customers.  Since my first day, I have felt empowered, supported, and seen as a contributing member to the overall purpose and mission of the organization. I haven't felt this before even though it may have been advertised as a part of the hiring process. Here at FSG, the experience that I have has been of inclusion and contribution."

-Steve Robinson; FSG Team Member

"Cultures, like Brittany and Doug have built at FSG, that welcomes, teaches, supports and values members will have the highest potential/success at ensuring Economy, Effectiveness and Efficiency - the three Pillars of Organizational Momentum."

-Lawrence Coons; President at WLA Consulting Group, LLC
